Merry Christmas From Whitener Law Firm!
Whitener Law Firm will be closed on December 25, 2017, and December 26, 2017. We hope that most of you get to take some time off as well. It is our hope that everyone in New Mexico has a safe holiday. We would also like to remind our fellow New Mexicans about some important things to keep in mind this holiday season.
#1: You Don’t Have to Win the Argument!
There can be no doubt that we live in tumultuous political times. Many families might find it difficult to enjoy each other’s company this year if they get to talking about politics. We recommend that you make it a point NOT to win any political arguments. Think of it as a gift to your friends and family. I will tell you now that it is worth the effort to move away from political discussions, even if you agree, and simply try to focus on the positive things that bring you together.
#2: Remember Those In Need.
It is important for us to remember that there are often people less fortunate than we are. When we have an opportunity to offer help or support for these individuals, we need to take advantage of it so that we can help them however we can. This doesn’t always mean giving money. It might mean patience, kind words, a sympathetic ear or a helping hand when things are not going well for someone who may have fallen on hard times.
#3: Be Safe.
Christmas is a time for celebration but keep in mind that there are often those that do not do this safely. If you drink, don’t drive. There will be Uber or Lyft drivers on the road this holiday. If you need to, spend a little extra to make sure you and others on New Mexico streets are safe.
Remember that you may need to be extra-cautious on the roadway and that you may need to protect yourself and your family from those who are less responsible. Drive defensively and travel at a safe speed. Getting there a little late won’t make much difference. They will wait for you to slice the ham!
We wish you a Merry Christmas and hope for a safe holiday for everyone. At Whitener Law Firm, we will feel like it was a good Christmas if our phones don’t start ringing out of control on December 27, 2017.
